Restorative Justice Program

Restorative justice tries to repair the damage caused by crime or other harmful acts.

The process gives those harmed the opportunity to meet the wrongdoers and explain how they were affected. At the same time, it gives the offenders the opportunity to take responsibility for their actions, to make up for what they have done, and to heal broken social relationships. Restorative justice is increasingly being used throughout our community, in schools, workplaces, hospitals, and in the criminal justice system.Cases can come either through the RCMP, or community members can self-refer, if they feel there are situations where a healing approach might be beneficial.
