Child and Youth Mental Health
The Child and Youth Mental Health services includes assessment, counselling and case planning for children and youth with depression, anxiety, family conflict, unmanageable behaviour, or other mental health concerns in home, school or community. The service provides specialized clinical interventions and support and follow-up in office or on an outreach basis.more info

This program offers financial assistance towards the cost of child care to families who have low to moderate incomes, access to forms and other relevant information.more info

Dragonfly Childcare and Family Resource Centre (Pender Island Child Care Society)
Child Care programs run Tuesdays, 9:00 - 3:30 and Wednesdays - Fridays, 9:00 to 4:45 for children 18 months to 5 years. We also offer drop in family resource programs. Parents and Babes runs on Mondays, 9:00 - 11:30, Healthy Opportunities for Preschoolers runs on Wednesdays, 9:30 - 10:30 and Dad n' me Pancake Breakfast is one Saturday a month from 9:00 - 11:00. Pender Island Child Care Society is a not-for-profit group that believes that children learn best in a nurturing environment where there is time for both planned and child-directed activities, indoor and outdoor play and active and quiet times. Outdoor play revolves around forest walks and gardening. At Dragonfly, an atmosphere of gentleness allows for a variety of experiences for each child - music, art, yoga, literacy and math-based educational opportunities. Staff continually expand their education to meet the needs of the community.more info
Early Learning for Families Strong Start Centres (ELF)
This program is operated by School District 64 at three sites on Salt Spring Island - Fulford Elementary, Salt Spring Elementary and Fernwood Elementary. It runs on a drop-in basis and is a parent participatory program designed for children ages 0 to 5.more info
