The Short Term Health Equipment Loan Program alleviates the pressures that come along with injury or illness, assists seniors with mobility issues, allows people to return home from hospital earlier, and supports those in palliative care who wish to spend their final days in the comfort of their own home. The Canadian Red Cross provides aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, bath seats and benches, commodes and toilet seats, crutches and canes, bed handles and other durable medical equipment.more info

Non-profit organization dedicated to the enhancement of literacy on Salt Spring. Offering free tutoring for adults in the areas of reading, writing, math, English as a second language and computer literacy. We also provide volunteer tutors in the elementary schools. We offer a quiet space to study, a computer lab, exam invigilation and other literacy services. Privacy assured. Volunteers welcome! Donations are tax deductible. more info
